My first taste of absolute aloneness was when I moved to a foreign country. Living there by myself as a single person, I wrestled with ideas that society had filled my mind with.
I bought myself flowers instead of waiting/dreaming about a Prince Charming who would come and romance me. I sat in the stillness of my room and enjoyed the quiet.
So often we are afraid to sit with ourselves. Afraid that the thoughts will overwhelm and consume us - that we are not good enough. We are not pretty enough, talented enough, skinny enough.. for our friends, for the world.
SWEET COMPANY is all about that journey - and understanding that you don't have to be someone else to love yourself. It's about sitting with your flaws, and loving yourself in spite of them... Delighting in having alone time, and romancing yourself because you are special!
